Welcome to American CME 2.0!

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new education and resource hub: Americancme.org! In late 2022, American CME set new goals for empowering our EMS community. With a new executive director and board of EMS directors, we started the process of changing to a nonprofit organization, and we began updating our website. Our goal for our new site is to create a vibrant hub for connection, information, and awareness that promotes the advancement of the EMS profession while addressing the problem of EMS attrition.

New Blog and EMS Newsfeed

Providers have been under extraordinary pressure these past few years with many leaving the profession in the wake of the pandemic. We’ve therefore created new resources such as this blog and an EMS newsfeed in an effort to tap into and strengthen our EMS community.

Through engaging content, we hope to inspire and initiate important discussions, foster more inclusion and belonging, raise community awareness of systems in need of change, and promote the implementation of EMS advancements on how to improve patient outcomes.

Events and Professional Development

Our Events page is also new and part of our mission for advancing EMS. We are committed to bringing our EMS community more opportunities for connection, professional development, and learning not only by exhibiting at conferences as we have in the past but also by hosting and/or sponsoring EMS events such as the 2023 Michigan EMS Expo that we are sponsoring in May and the 2023 EMS Safety Summit that we will sponsor in March. This year, we will be debuting our new logo, too, so plan on picking up some new American CME swag when you visit our booth at the Expo!

Visit our new Events page to find and register for upcoming events or locate archives of past events. We invite you to keep us informed of your events too! You may even want to advertise on our site or become a sponsor. Check our our new Advertising and Sponsors pages to get involved and to partner with us on our shared mission.

Quality Continuing Medical Education

In 2009, American CME launched a trailblazing, custom-built, online Continuing Medical Education program with video-format courses and one-click certificate downloads for on-the-go Emergency Medical Service providers. With free, state CE, low-cost CAPCE memberships, agency accounts, custom courses, RACER testing, and a robust Knowledge Assessment Platform for QA/QI programs, we’ve been meeting the specific CE needs of the EMS community like no other for 24 years. Phase two of our new website will build on this strong foundation of quality continuing education with a new learning management system and more CAPCE-accredited course options.

Our Mission

With a crisis-level personnel shortage in EMS at a time when the demand for mobile, integrated healthcare is greater than ever, we vow to develop our content and resources with the ultimate purpose of safeguarding care providers, patients, and the public. We advocate for EMS care that is based in peer-reviewed, clinical data, and research, and our education and resources will reflect these values. American CME’s mission is to improve patient outcomes and EMS provider knowledge through access to high-quality continuing medical education, training, and awareness. We thank you and our more than 66 thousand American CME users for your continued support and hope you are as excited as we are for the future of EMS and American CME!
