This course is designed to raise awareness of transmissible diseases. We cannot perceive these disease-causing microorganisms directly, but we can recognize their presence and identity them based upon our patient’s signs and symptoms. It is critical that as emergency medical professionals we understand these diseases in order to eliminate our own fears and ultimately render effective care to our patients.
